6-year-old mare seeks best place - I am now trying to find a place for my 6-year-old mare Kalinka. She measures 1.48 cm and is registered as a "small horse without breed designation". She is a very honest and kind-hearted soul, but also has a mind of her own. I don't always get along with this and am therefore looking for someone who has the time and experience to work with a horse like her. She was traded to the previous owner and then taken on by me.
I bought Kalinka myself in 2023 and have made small steps with her since then. We have always been able to resolve minor differences between the two of us quickly. She is neither particularly jumpy nor does she get excited in everyday life. She clearly shows what she likes and doesn't like, but is in no way malicious or anything like that. She currently runs barehoof. She has always been calm at the farrier's and is also easy to load.
Kalinka is currently not ridden but is said to have been ridden by children and broken in by the previous owner. She is also said to have had a foal. She is interested and motivated to go for walks in the field, once she wants to. At the moment she needs to be pushed and trained properly. Nevertheless, I believe she has the potential to be a wonderful leisure horse.
Kalinka has chronic respiratory problems. In summer (when it's very hot) or when the temperature fluctuates a lot, she has breathing problems, but these can be managed well with inhalation and proper training. However, this is when you can see her belly breathing. She knows how to inhale and accepts it well.
I would like to find her a caregiver who has enough knowledge to take good care of her and, above all, to encourage her. She is currently kept in an open stable. I could not imagine keeping her in a stall due to the above-mentioned complaints.
Kalinka will be sold with her inhaler and other accessories.
An AKU is possible at the buyer's expense. However, as I do not have a trailer driver's license, she would have to be picked up myself.
For me, this is not a distress sale, so it's all about PLACE BEFORE PRICE! So if I can find a suitable place for it, I am happy to negotiate within a suitable framework. Possibly an installment purchase (with down payment) would also be possible.
